FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MUSLIMS IN COLUMBUS, OHIO ( Closest to Athens)
There are two Muslim cemeteries used in the Columbus area:
1. The Islamic Society of Columbus Ohio (ISCO) Cemetery, 3880 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219. Contact Derar Musa at (614) 843-8693 for burial arrangements at ISCO Cemetery.
2. Fairview Memorial Park, Islamic Garden, 5035 Columbus Pike, State Route 23, Lewis Center, Ohio 43015. For those who own plots at the Fairview Memorial Park, contact Tim Foor at (419) 210-4866.
Steps:
1. When a death occurs, call a funeral home to pick up the body of the deceased. Our community uses Rutherford Funeral Homes at (614) 885-4006.
2. Call one of the above cemeteries.
3. Arrange for the washing of the body at: Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center, 591 Industrial Mile Road, Columbus, Ohio (614-272-9994) OR Ibnu Taymiyah Masjid, 2334 Mock Road, Columbus, Ohio (614-418-9137).
4. Janaza Prayers can be performed at any Masjid such as Noor Masjid (614-527-7777), Abubakar Asiddiq Masjid, Ibnu Taymiyah Masjid, etc.
